My Journey into Aesthetic Medicine

I thought I’d share a little bit about myself for those of you who haven’t had the chance to meet me in clinic yet, and tell you how I ended up becoming an aesthetics practitioner.

When I was just seven years old, I had an accident that meant I needed regular visits from a district nurse at home. That nurse was Kara.

After I recovered, we stayed in touch through my mum, who continued to visit Kara for her aesthetic treatments. Little did I know at the time that she would go on to have such a huge influence on my life.

Fast forward eight years, and I was in college trying to figure out what direction I wanted to take. I knew I admired Kara and the care she gave to her patients, and she had inspired me to consider nursing, but I wasn’t completely sure if it was the right path for me.

Kara encouraged me to take the leap. She suggested I complete my nursing degree, see where it took me, and reminded me that one day I could even combine nursing with aesthetics, just as she had.

Seven years later, that’s exactly where I am.

Today, I work as a nurse in acute medicine alongside my role as an aesthetics practitioner, and I genuinely couldn’t imagine doing anything else.

I truly believe that everything happens for a reason. If I hadn’t had that accident as a little girl, I may never have met Kara, and I may never have discovered a career that I love so much.

Being a registered nurse has shaped the practitioner I am today. It has given me strong ethical values, compassion, attention to detail and the ability to problem-solve, all of which I bring into every aesthetic treatment I provide.

For me, aesthetics isn’t just about enhancing appearance—it’s about helping people feel confident, comfortable and happy in their own skin while always putting their safety and wellbeing first.

I’m incredibly grateful for the journey that brought me here, and I’m so excited to continue helping my patients feel like the very best version of themselves.
